Tanay, Rizal is situated in the southern part of the Sierra Madre Mountain ranges. With this, there are plenty of peaks, trails, falls and rivers to explore. What’s even better, it is just a 2-3 hours ride from Manila. So if you are looking for an adventure, Tanay, Rizal is a perfect choice. Here are some tourist spots of Tanay, Rizal.

  1. Daranak Falls

Daranak Falls is one the most accessible tourist destination in Tanay, Rizal. The semi developed resort is just 9km from Town Proper. Then, the falls is just a few meters walk from the parking lot. They have available cottages for rent near the falls. This is ideal for family or group picnics.

Daranak Falls is 14 meters high cascading falls surrounded by dense vegetation. It has a wide and deep basin. To get near the falls, you should know how to swim but there are also shallow parts where kids can play.

2. Tinipak River

Tinipak River is known for its unique rock-formations and Emerald colored river. This is a short trail accessible via Baranggay Daraitan. With options to climb Mt. Daraitan and/or swim in a cave with natural pool.

If you are looking for a thrill, there’s a cliff jumping spot near the river camp site.

3. Mt. Batolusong

Mt. Batolusong is accessible via Baranggay San Andres. This is a beginner’s hike with 3 summits namely: Duhatan Ridge, Mapatag Plateau and Rangyas Peak. The whole trail can be completed within 5 hours.

It can get really hot especially at noon because most parts of the trail doesn’t have a shade. Best to end your hike with a cold dip in Sangab Cave.
