Coming from Rebel Bakehouse, we went straight to Grumpy Joe for dinner. Grumpy Joe is a popular local spot known for its affordable Italian and American comfort food.

Grumpy Joes has several branches in the northern part of Luzon. The one we visited was the branch in Gibraltar, Baguio. The branch is an old mansion converted into a restaurant. There was a long queue when we arrived around dinner time.

It seems they didn’t change the main structure of the house, so there’s 2 separate sections for dining. It has a cozy ambiance well-lit and well-ventilated.

Grumpy Joe offers pizzas, pastas and American comfort food like wings, burgers and hotdog sandwiches.

To start, we ordered the Bacon and Cheese Fries

and Onion rings.

We also got the Honey Garlic Chicken Wings Platter with Bleu Cheese Dip.

Then, we ordered Sloppy Joe under their Burgers selection.

For pasta, we order the Baked Zitti.

Lastly, Grumpy Joe offers a variety of pizza flavors. For this experience, we tried the Grumpy Joe flavor on a thick crust. I know Grumpy Joe is known for its pizza, I’m not a fan of their crust.

Grumpy Joe is well-loved by locals and tourist alike because they offer affordable yet enjoyable Italian and American dishes.  All their servings are good for sharing.

This was the last restaurant we visited on day one of our Baguio food trip. We explored more restaurants and cafes on our second day.

Recommendation: Out of the dishes we’ve tried the highlight for me was the Baked Zitti and Chicken Wings.

Tips: Schedule your visit off-peak to avoid the queue.
