We found a newly opened restaurant hidden in the sloping roads of Monte Vista Subdivision. From the people that brought Burrow Café in Antipolo, they opened Lula Café in Tagaytay.
Situated in the clubhouse of Monte Vista Subdivision. The word Lula was derived from “Nakakalula” and this is because of the exhilarating mountain view.
The clubhouse converted into a café has a huge wooden door at the entrance and glass panels on the other side. This gives a natural light to the small but spacious dining area.
Lula Café is 100% al fresco dining. The veranda section is the best spot to enjoy the view of a lush greeneries and Tagaytay breeze. This is perfect with a cup of coffee.
Lula Café has a one pager menu that includes all day breakfast, healthy dishes, pizzas, coffee and desserts. They also use locally-sourced ingredients in their dishes.
We tried 3 starters: No Meat Taco,
Fresh Catch Ceviche Calamansi Gastrique,
and Poutine Truffle Essence.
Among the 3 starters, my pick is the Fresh Catch Ceviche Calamansi Gastrique. It has the right balance of saltiness and tangy flavor.
For the Mains, we tried the Baked Fish Pomodoro Spagetti Aglio Olio.
The highlight of the Lula Café experience, was the Four Cheese Sourdough Pizza. Their pizza was so good that we also ordered the Neopolitana flavor for take-out. Note: Removed from Lula Café’s menu as of 07/02/2023
Update:
We re-visited Lula Café late afternoon for a coffee and pizza. Unfortunately, we discovered that Lula Café removed their sourdough pizza on their menu. As a result, we opted to complement our coffees by ordering desserts.
We selected two best-sellers from their dessert section: Davao Chocolate Cake
and Calamansi Meringue Pie.
Recommendations: Four Cheese Sourdough Pizza is a must. For Desserts, if you are into chocolates, try their Davao Chocolate Cake.
Tip: The best spot in Lula Café is the Veranda section.
