Exploring the food scene of Salcedo Village in Makati, we’ve already covered Pablo Bistro. The owner alongside his business partner, created the casual neighborhood café-deli-bar known as Cartel. Just beside Pablo Bistro, Cartel opened last 2016. Cartel collaborated with other businesses resulting in a unique concept offering coffee, deli, tapas, pastries and wine.
I remember before 2020, Cartel was one of our go-to spot for a Friday night chill. Recently, I had a opportunity to revisit and try their food offerings. Inside, the industrial design features a black and wood theme. It is dimly lit creating a cozy atmosphere. Surprisingly, even after several years, it appeared that nothing changed in its design.
We started our lunch with coffee and complimentary bread. Cartel offer Yardstick Coffee and for this experience, I ordered the Iced Black.
Cartel’s Breakfast Selections, includes breakfast specialties, breakfast bowls, sandwiches and more.
Cartel is known for its sandwiches so we ordered the Smoked Wagyu Brisket Sandwich. You can choose between a side salad or fries to accompany your meal.
We’ve also tried Wagyu Burger Steak under the breakfast specials option as recommended by the crew.
To summarize our Cartel experience: the dishes we’ve tried are satisfying, the portion sizes are decent and service is commendable. On the other hand, Cartel is a bit expensive, with price ranges from Php300.00+ to over Php600.00.
Recommendations: Cartel is known for its sandwiches.
Tip: Cartel is a good spot for an after office chill.
