Lime and Basil is a Thai restaurant and events place tucked away in Alfonso, Cavite. It been operating since 2009 and is one our go-to restaurant when we are in Tagaytay area.
A former vacation house converted into a restaurant, surrounded by teeming plant life, with tables set up in various sections of the house.
For a more garden experience, several tables are also placed in the garden area in front of the house.
Lime and Basil offers an extensive array of fresh Thai cuisine. While they offer ala carte dishes, it’s best to order several dishes for sharing, especially if you are in a group. This way, you can enjoy a variety of Thai flavors.
For starters, we ordered Yam Som O, or the Pomelo Salad, topped with shrimps, chicken, herbs and flower petals. One of our favorites at Lime and Basil.
Next was Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp, one of the best seller of Lime and Basil.
We also ordered Tom Yum Goong, a sour and spicy soup.
For our mains, we ordered the Crispy Pork Red Curry. It comes with crispy pork chops served in a Thai curry sauce.
We also tried Sate Gai, five pieces of chicken skewers topped with crushed peanuts and served with cucumber salsa.
Lastly, Crispy Pork Kaprao, a stir fried ground pork with basil and fried egg on top.
The relaxed ambiance, excellent service and quality Thai dishes keep us coming back to Lime and Basil. If you happen to be in the area of Alfonso, Cavite or Tagaytay and craving for authentic Thai Cuisines, you should visit Lime and Basil.
Recommendations: My favorite dish in Lime and Basil is the Yam Som O.
Tip: Reserve in advance to avoid queuing, especially during peak hours.
