This is a continuation of our experience of the food hub at CVI Building just along Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay Road in the area of Silang, Cavite. So after our enjoyable experience at Burger Mama Café, we transferred to Himawari Specialty Coffee, located just a few steps away.

Upon first glance, the exterior presents an ordinary and a low key vibe. However, stepping into Himawari Specialty Coffee, seemed like you are instantly transport you to a different place and time. The first thing you’ll notice are the low wooden bar table and the intriguing contrast of the yellow chairs from the black walls and wooden interior.

Himawari Specialty Coffee is a Japanese owned 4th wave coffee shop that opened last 27 November 2019. As explained by the crew, Himawari Specialty Coffee sourced its beans from variety of countries and various regions of the Philippines. With its own in house coffee roasting facility, they focus on small batches of beans, to produce a higher quality coffee.

Himawari Specialty Coffee has a curated menu featuring a selection of coffee drinks that includes Special Iced Coffee, Espresso/ Americano Tonic, Himawari Premium Blend, Specialty Coffee and cappuccino.

Sampled their Special Iced Coffee.

We also tried their Hand Drip Coffee. Here, you’ll have the option to choose your beans. Our choice was the Mandheling from Indonesia, appreciated for its earthy undertones.

In addition to its coffee offerings, Himawari Specialty Coffee presents a several pastas and food choices. Given that we already ate, we decided to try one under their Japanese Sweets option and ordered the Blueberry Cheese Cake.

We were so impressed by their coffee that we couldn’t resist ordering an Espresso Tonic to-go before we conclude our Himawari Specialty Coffee experience.

To summarize our Himawari Specialty Coffee experience, the homey atmosphere was very relaxing. I really appreciate the low wooden bar table with limited seating. This encourage interactions with the friendly crew of Himawari Specialty Coffee. As a specialty coffee shop, it is worth noting that Himawari Specialty Coffee is not for those who are looking for frappes and lattes. The curated coffee option is because Himawari Specialty Coffee focuses on taste and quality of the coffee. This is for those who are in search for a good cup of coffee.

Recommendations: of course coffee :D

Tip: Their pasta looks delicious.
