Visayas is one of the three major island group of the Philippine. It is known for its rich natural beauty and also holds historical significance. Located in the middle section of the Philippines, Visayas consists of seven main islands: Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Leyte, Masbate, Panay and Samar.

Best places to visit in Visayas region:

  1. Cebu

Cebu is known for Sinulog Festival, world-class beaches, amazing dive spots and the adrenalin pumping canyoneering to Kawasan falls. Cebu City, Its capital, is highly urbanized and the oldest city of the Philippines. Also known as the Gateway to a Thousand Journeys, Cebu is also a perfect jump off to nearby islands like Bohol, Dumaguete, Siquijor and more.

2. Bohol

Bohol is an island located southeast of Cebu, famous for two things: Tarsier and Chocolate Hills. However, Bohol also has a remarkable marine life, making Bohol as one of the top dive spots in the world.

3. Panay

Panay Island is located on the western part of Visayas region. While Boracay is world-famous, other tourist destinations in Panay is still under the radar.

4. Negros

Negros Island is an island composed of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, located south or Panay and west of Cebu.

Here are some of the recommended destinations you can visit in Negros:

  • Dumaguete - Known for its natural attractions such as lakes, waterfalls, beaches and islands.

  • Apo Island – If you want to swim with turtles, visit this island.

Samar Island is one of the least explored island in the Philippines, Samar is known as the land of waterfalls and caves.
