Abé is a Filipino restaurant that specializes in Kapampangan cuisine. Operating under the umbrella of LJC Restaurant Group, which includes Café Adriatico, Bistro Remedios and Fely J’s Kitchen.

Abé established its presence in major malls within Metro Manila. The one we visited is the branch in Solaire Resort. Eventhough the restaurant is located in a classy casino setting, the restaurant’s interior is accented with traditional Filipino dining elements which gives it a homey atmosphere.

To start our Abé experience, we got several dishes under the appetizers option. First is Abé’s Spicy Sisig Pampanga which is served in a small sizzling plate. What I like about their Sisig is that it sticks to the original recipe, without mayonnaise. It is worth noting that, since it is under the appetizers selection, the serving size is modest.

This is a deep fried crab meat. Forgot to take note the name of this dish :D

No Filipino meal is truly whole without rice, so for this experience, we ordered Baby Squid rice. Topped with baby squid and salted egg. Served in a platter ideal for sharing.

Then for vegetables, we selected Abé’s Gising Gising. Abé’s version uses stalks of Kangkong instead of Sigarilyas.

We also sampled a Filipino favorite, Pork Sinigang in Sampaloc.

Moving to seafood selection, we’ve tried Tuna Panga sa Bawang. Typically Tuna Panga is grilled but in Abé’s it is fried with generous toppings of fried garlic.

Next is the Sugpo sa Aligue ng Talangka or prawns cooked in rich crab fat.

The Day After, one of the highlight of the Abé experience. The name of the dish is pretty creative since in typical Filipino celebration, the left overs of Lechon is cooked as Paksiw the next day.

For drinks, I opted for the Tamarind Shake.

Transitioning to desserts, we tried Suman Bilyunaryo. Served with 2 pieces of fried Suman and palm sugar sauce.
