SOUQ Pampanga is a local restaurant in San Fernando, Pampanga. Outside, the restaurant looks like it was built in an old warehouse. The whole place is called the SOUQ Restaurant Compound. The first thing that you’ll notice is the vines and flowers slightly covering the massive wooden door.
The interior of SOUQ Pampanga is mostly made up of old wood and metal. Giving it a rustic atmosphere. The dining area in the middle is well ventilated because of the high ceiling. The design of the restaurant is great for photos in both daytime and at night.
SOUQ Pampanga serves Kapangpangan and Filipino favorites, Italian and some fusion cuisines. For starters, we’ve tried Tinapa Pate and Firecracker Belly.
I was surprised that the Firecracker Belly was not oily. I find that its texture is similar to a calamari.
Then, we went and ordered 2 of their best-sellers: Pasta Sa Taba Ng Alimango (Pasta Aligue) and Asado Matwa.
Asado Matwa is close to a Kaldereta (minus the cheese) because their take is more on tomatoes rather than soy sauce – still good though. I do like that the meat has the “falling apart” texture.
All in all, I consider this an affordable restaurant because they serve quality cuisines with decent serving. Among the dishes I’ve tasted, my top choice is Pasta Sa Taba Ng Alimango.
SOUQ Pampanga is an IG-worthy restaurant that has good food at an affordable price.
Recommendations: Pasta Sa Taba Ng Alimango, Seafood Marinara, Asado Matwa
Tip: Try the Palitaw delight for dessert.
